Bespoke platform drove more than 300,000 votes for Premier League Hall of Fame in China, boosting fan engagement and visibility.

We were tasked with the challenge of driving meaningful voting numbers for the Premier League Hall of Fame in China, a market known for its “walled digital garden” and unique user habits. 

To overcome this, we developed a bespoke HTML5 platform specifically designed to unlock Hall of Fame voting in China, given that global channels were not localised for referrals. This platform allowed Chinese fans to participate in the prestigious Hall of Fame initiative, seamlessly integrating with their digital preferences.

To amplify the impact, we supplemented the platform with a combination of tactical paid spend and organic content, ensuring widespread reach and engagement. In 2023, we took our efforts further by integrating the Hall of Fame voting process with Migu, a leading local broadcaster, significantly raising the initiative’s profile in China. This strategic partnership allowed us to tap into Migu’s vast audience, making the voting process even more accessible.

Additionally, we collaborated with Douyin, China’s premier short-video platform, and other strategic partners to further boost engagement. These combined efforts have driven over 300,000 Hall of Fame votes from China, an impressive number given the market’s digital landscape. 

Our tailored approach has successfully positioned the Premier League Hall of Fame as a prominent and engaging initiative within the Chinese market, fostering deeper fan connection and participation.
