Key Responsibilities:

• Research the Current Music Industry Structure in China:
• • Analyse the organisational framework, market segments, and distribution channels.
• Identify Key Players:
  • Compile a comprehensive list of major record labels active in the market, music platforms, agencies, and influential industry figures.
• Explore Chinese Talent:
  • Highlight emerging and established Chinese artists across various genres.
• Assess Popular Overseas Talent in China:
  • Identify international artists who have a significant following or influence in the Chinese market.
• Analyse Revenue Streams:
  • Examine sources of income such as digital sales, streaming, live performances, merchandising, and licensing.
• Identify Opportunities:
  • Pinpoint potential areas for market entry, partnerships, and strategic growth.
• Reporting:
  • Prepare detailed reports and present findings during weekly review and progress calls.

Qualifications:

• Language Skills:
  • Fluent in Mandarin and proficient in English.
• Research Skills:
  • Strong analytical abilities and experience with market research. Mixture of desktop research and interviews. 
• Knowledge:
  • Familiarity with the Chinese music industry and cultural landscape. Deep knowledge not essential. 
• Communication:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficient with standard research tools and software.

Working Conditions:

• Part-Time Role:
  • Hours aligned with student visa requirements.
• Compensation:
  • Hourly rate in line with the London Living Wage.
• Flexibility:
  • Remote work with the requirement to attend occasional meetings in our London office (Zone 1).
• Collaboration:
  • Participate in weekly review and progress calls with the team.
