MENA Premier League x Influencers AFCON

The Premier League's AFCON influencer campaign captivated MENA audiences, blending cultural storytelling and football to boost engagement.

The Premier League launched a dynamic influencer campaign in MENA to enhance engagement and visibility during the African Cup of Nations (AFCON). 

Recognising the cultural significance of AFCON in the region and the universal language of football, we partnered with top influencers from MENA countries to create a campaign that resonated deeply across diverse audiences.

The campaign featured a series of five engaging episodes shared across social media platforms. Each episode focused on culturally relevant and compelling storytelling, with influencers sharing interesting facts about AFCON, highlighting the journeys of players who have excelled in both the Premier League and AFCON, and adding a touch of humor with personal anecdotes. 

Topics included the iconic rivalry between Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mané, Riyad Mahrez’s contributions to the Algerian national team, Didier Drogba’s memorable encounters with Egyptian goalkeeper Essam El-Hadary, and Marouane Chamakh’s role in the Moroccan national team.

This culturally attuned approach not only highlighted the relevance of the Premier League within the context of AFCON, but also strengthened its connection with fans in the MENA region. 

The campaign was highly successful, garnering 1.75m combined views and 91,000 engagements. Through the power of storytelling and the shared passion for football, this collaboration significantly enhanced the Premier League’s brand visibility across the region.
